November 17, 2008 - MODIS Terra Earth Mosaic
MODIS Terra Earth Mosaic Image used for Spacing Purposes
Satellite: Terra
Date Acquired: 11/13/2008
Resolutions:

Bands Used: 1,4,3

This image of the Earth is a mosaic of data from the MODIS on the Terra satellite, put together with the aid of Google Earth. The latest MODIS Terra data is available on http://onearth.jpl.nasa.gov/, which has a continuously updating image of the Earth made from the data. The image on that site is the most current, near-global image available! Generally, the newest images added to it are between 6 and 24 hours old. The site also provides a way to view these layers of data in Google Earth.

Today's image shows the Earth as it appeared on November 13, 2008. You can view a high resolution image here.

Interestingly, if you look closely, you can see the dust storm in Pakistan that was featured in the November 15th Image of the Day. Both images are from November 13.
