Biography:
Dave Siegel has research expertise in interdisciplinary marine science. He is adept at coupling of physical, biological, optical and biogeochemical processes on micro to ocean basin scales. Specifically, his research includes ocean color remote sensing and optical oceanography, spatial marine ecology, mesoscale eddy and coastal processes, Lagrangian approaches to understanding stirring and mixing and its implications, quantification of subgrid scale processes, human-natural system coupling, fisheries oceanography and management, numerical modeling, and role of radiative exchanges in air-sea interactions.
