Cheng, WX, Yang, CJ, Zhou, JM, Zhou, WC, Li, Y (2009). The Regulation of Vegetation Distribution Based on MODIS Image in Aba Prefectures. PROCEEDINGS OF 2009 CONFERENCE ON COMMUNICATION FACULTY, 359-362.

Abstract
Modis image is the ideal data to study the spatial distribution of vegetation in large area, especially in areas with complex terrain and vegetation. Based on the latest Chinese land-cover classification system on RS, the 1:250 thousand Modis image of Aba prefecture was automatic classified and generated three raster map layers: forest, grassland and farmland. These layers were overlaid with the vector map of vegetation cover converted from the land use map of Aba prefecture. Make the classified results as the reference of the land cover type attributions, the vector map was divided and modified. Then, GIS techniques were used to extract and classify geographic information from the 1:250 thousand DEM of Aba prefectures, such as the slope, aspect and altitude etc. Lastly, the special distributions of vegetation in Aba prefecture were analyzed by the spatial analysis functions of GIS technology. Which include the distributions of vegetation in different slope, altitude and aspect. A sample survey shows that the method used to obtain the special distributions of vegetation is consistent with the actual situation basically.
