Ma, S, Liu, ZS, Zhang, KL, Li, ZG, He, SY (2006). Field experiment of an airborne oceanographic lidar and comparison with a moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer. LASERS IN ENGINEERING, 16(6-May), 413-421.

Abstract
An airborne oceanographic lidar, with a frequency-tripled, Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, has been designed to measure the chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) concentration in the upper sub-surface of the sea by the Ocean Remote Sensing Institute. The surface Chl-a concentrations were measured in the Korean Bay on the 10(th) of September 2005. The results measured of Chl-a by lidar are compared with those of the Chl-a concentration by a Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectro-radiometer (MODIS). The MODIS has a resolution of I km.
