Fires, likely grass and brushfire, continue to burn in Queensland Australia in this image, captured by the MODIS on the Aqua satellite on November 22, 2009. The fires have been burning since October. This image shows the region west of Rockhampton. The most concentrated region of fire is in the Buckland Tableland section of the Great Dividing Range Mountains.
Each fire is marked with a red dot - many of them have visible smoke plumes, which appear to be blowing to the southwest.
