Tom Stone

Biography:
Tom Stone received his doctorate from the University of Arizona Department of Atmospheric Sciences, and BS and MS degrees in Physics from the University of Akron. Since 2000 he has been with the US Geological Survey in Flagstaff, AZ, where he leads the lunar calibration program (ROLO) to use the Moon as a radiometric standard for space-based Earth remote sensing instruments.
Research Area:
Tom Stone's research is directed toward achieving calibration stability and consistency among Earth-observing radiometer instruments in orbit, using the Moon as a common illumination source, to develop long-term
climate records from multiple instruments on different platforms.
