Biography:
Dr. Hongbin Yu is a Research Physical Scientist with the Climate and Radiation Laboratory at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). Throughout his career, Dr. Yu has been studying the diffusion and transport of air pollutants and their environmental impacts from local to regional to continental to global scale. In most recent years, he has been conducting satellite and model integrated studies of aerosol long-range transport and impacts on the earth system and huamn health. His publications cover a wide range of topics, including the aerosol intercontinental transport, aerosol data assimilation, aerosol interactions with radiation and clouds, impacts of aerosols on the land-atmosphere interactions and atmopsheric stratification, tropospheric ozone chemistry, atmospheric dispersion modeling, and air pollution and boundary layer meteorology over complex terrain.
