Fires in China

This image of southern China was captured by the MODIS on the Aqua satellite on March 2, 2008. Agricultural fires dot the landscape - each one is marked by a red dot. Smoke and haze are in the air too, particularly in the left side of the image.

Next to China in the west is Vietnam. The black line denotes the border between the countries. On the southern coast of Along the coast sediment and phytoplankton color the water.
