There is a brilliant blue and green glow around Bermuda in this image captured by the MODIS on the Aqua satellite on February 4, 2008. In this instance, the colors are not due to phytoplankton. Bermuda is surrounded on the north by coral reefs - the coral reefs reflect light and this makes the shallow water blue and green in appearance.
Bermuda is in the North Atlantic Ocean, off the East Coast of the United States.
