Namib Desert

On November 28, 2018, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board NASA's Aqua satellite acquired a true-color image of Namibia. The soft orange sands mark the Namib Desert, which lies along the southwestern coast of Africa. The large coastal desert is one of the oldest in the world. Its dunes, pushed up by strong onshore winds, are the highest on Earth, rising as high as 300-350 meters (1000-1167 feet)
