Tropical Storm Christina was drifting off the coast of El Salvador on June 10, 2026, when the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) acquired this true-color image.
The third-named storm of the Pacific Hurricane Season, Christina formed on June 8 and degenerated into a tropical low on June 11. Although maximum sustained winds only reached 45 miles per hour (72.4 km/h), the wandering and short-lived storm carried significant impacts for portions of Central America.
Torrential rains triggered flooding from Costa Rica to Nicaragua. The Weather Channel reported that the town of Iztapa, Guatemala was particularly hard hit, with intense flooding that damaged several houses, inundated streets, and washed away part of a cemetery.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) issued its last advisory on Christina on June 11.
