April 9, 2020 - Haze over the Korean Peninsula

Suspended aerosols colored the air between China and the Korean Peninsula on April 8, 2020 when the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board NASA’s Aqua satellite acquired a true-color image of the region.
The haze, likely a combination of agricultural fires and industrial and urban pollution, appears to blow from mainland China to reach South Korea and beyond. Skies remain mostly clear over North Korea. In some areas, the haze is so thick that it is difficult to see the water and land beneath.
